FPV from Scratch in Detail.

The whole thing started on a cold and snowy evening. I was having fun after another busy workday at my PC browsing for all sorts of RC hobbyist goodies, as I was about to start building my new plane. When I was well into yet another attempt to comprehend the section describing telemetry equipment, the idea of building a FPV dawned upon me. After a brief consideration, I was fully determined to add my first FPV to my arsenal.

Rewinding a 2205 Brushless Motor

Rewinding a 2205 Brushless motor.

Hello everybody!
It’s three years since I’m in the RC hobby, and it was then that I got this kind of motor. It was intended for the well-known Cessna 150. Then it was incorporated into an overseas 4Q, then – into a Vzhik, and now it is installed in a Kesla. Although it has come through snow and water and gave a smoke, it was all right until a few days ago. It was down after I flew my KESL a few times. I guess that is due to winding damage or something like that. Well, that’s not important now.

This is the configuration:

Essentially, I had to check them.

La-7 Fighter Plane

Hello everyone!

I'd like to share with you my experience of building La-7 fighter plane model. I used styrofoam because the time until the contest was short and there was no way I could make the dummy to build the model out of plastic bottles.
I'll keep it brief, if you have any questions, ask away in the comments below, I'll reply.

Testing the Multistar High Capacity 4S 10000mAh Multi-Rotor Lipo Pack

The new line of Multistar High Capacity Batteries hit the market last summer. I chose not to rush, because I didn’t want a pig in a poke and looked for user feedback, but that made the choice even more challenging. Eventually, after six months I did buy a Multistar High Capacity 4S 10000mAh Multi-Rotor Lipo Pack just for experiment: Multistar High Capacity 4S 10000mAh Multi-Rotor Lipo Pack

After the killer New Year holiday the I-want-a-big-twin-engine bug bit me hard into really building it.

Thank God, I’d gained a bit of skill...

I did it based on my experience with the field-tested little Twins cargo plane.

Characteristics:
1. BIG SIZE (consist of 4 elements)
Pros: lots of free space, good weight-lifting ability
Cons: storage, transportation and assembly inconveniences

2.horizontal stabilizer with a lifting profile
Pros: high tail-unit stiffness, an opportunity to shift the normal centering back by 15-20% (in fact – by 50%)
Cons: none

3. two-fin tail
Pros: good propeller blowing (a smaller surface area is ok).
Cons: two servos are required

4. Rigid fastening of the wings and the tail (polyethylene bolts with captive nuts).
Pros: clear geometry, simple and reliable fastening.
Cons: 5kg of total weight can contribute to destruction in case of hard touchdown.

5. All these pros and cons are typical of twin-engine planes.
6. Сlark - Y15 wing profile (just the right thing for a cargo plane).

My RC Metal 1/10 semi-replica of the SU-102 (dedicated to WoT fans...)

Here is my RC semi-replica of a Soviet self-propelled gun. Metal only. This is an almost completely kitchen-table product, as I used a minimal amount of equipment and tools as I built it. I didn’t face any difficulties casting the aluminum mantlet, and I wrote articles on that earlier:

Crash-proof quadcopter. The basics of how to avoid major repairs (Pt. 1, Mechanics)

I've been flying an F450 quad via FPV for about 4 years now. It endured many crashes (free-falls), some were caused by my actions, while some had to do with the work of electronics.

In this article I highlighted a few techniques/rules that will help you prevent serious damages:
